花鳥使のオープン当時のここ飯田高原の夏はとても涼しく
下界の猛暑の中で暮らしてきたマスターには
飯田の夏は、まさに天国でした。
当然ながらお店には冷房設備は
必要ありません。
周辺の飲食店でも
ほとんどの店舗さんには冷房なんてありません。
当時はそれで問題なかったのですが
温暖化による最近の猛暑は
標高100０ｍのここ飯田高原でも例外ではありません。
平地に比べればかなり気温差がありますが
涼しさに慣れきっているこの体には、暑さが身に沁みます。
しかも真夏に汗を流しながら
七輪でお肉を焼くお客様を見るたびに
「何とかしないとな」と思っていました。
しかし、冷房が必要な期間なんて年間で2週間程度です。
なかなか購入を決断出来ずにいましたが
そうも言ってられなくなりました。
清水の舞台から飛び降りました。
只今工事中です。
これからは、真夏でも汗を流さずに食事が出来るようになります（なると思います）ので
安心してご来店いただけたらと思っております。

It used to be very cool even in the middle of summer here in Handa when we opened our restaurant, Kachoshi. Before moving here, I was living Hita, which is one of the hottest city in Japan. So I really appreciated this cool climate in summer here. It was like Heaven!
That’s why, not only ordinary houses, but also most of the shops and restaurants here have no air-cooling system.
There was no problem in living without air-conditioning system about 10 years ago. However, because of global warming, the earth has become hotter and hotter year by year. Handa plateau is no exception; even it is situated at 1,000m above sea level.
Of course, it is still cooler than the places at the foot of mountains. But I have always felt that I have to do something to make the customers feel comfortable….they are all in sweat while broiling meat over a heated table stove in the middle of summer.
The hottest periods lasts only a couple of weeks or a month a year. I couldn’t dare to buy such an expensive cooling system for this small restaurant…
However, I finally made a bold decision! I bought an air conditioner!
This summer, you will be able to enjoy Yakiniku in a cool room. (I hope…..just I worry whether the cooled air might go away through the ventilation fans…. It is unavoidable to turn on the ventilation fans since smoke rises up when you broil meat. )
Please visit our restaurant even though it is scorching hot in your places. Handa plateau is very refreshing and our restaurant must be cool this summer!
